Before diving into our whirlwind day, I think it’s important to take a step back and introduce my fabulous travel companions. Erin, Allie, Rachel and I reconnected a few years ago over “cousin” brunch dates. We quickly moved from cousin friends to real true friends! Especially after looping in the significant others for some very intense games of DND. And after scheming, saving and planning. - we decided to take this show on the road to Scotland.
Traveling went so smoothly I’d hate to jinx it! All flights on time, cushy seat upgrades (thanks Rachel!) and free champagne on flight. Not too shabby! We landed around 8AM Scotland time, so we all were a little woozy but powered through to pick up our car and travel to our first stop in Crail/Fife near St Andrews.
Important calls outs:
- Erin is a champ for driving on the left
- getting petrol is weird
- there really are a LOT of roundabouts…and they can be intense
Crail is this small little vacation fishing town. The people here are absolutely amazing. We appear to be the only Americans around, which is perfect. We’ve already enjoyed fish and chips, black pudding (it’s honestly not that scary) and a sausage roll.
I feel like Scotland is already luring us in with beautiful blue skies, cool breeze and fabulous food and drinks. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
