The Kingsbarn is a “newer” distillery in the lowlands. They make whiskey and gin. Fun fact - their barrels are from Heaven Hill in KY! Maybe it was all the drama of whiskey, but the workers were incredibly kind and funny. They loved that we were from KY.
From there we bopped up to St. Andrews. We toured the busy college town, picked up some souvenirs for our golf lovers, enjoyed a “toasty” (think grilled cheese) at a local pub and headed back to our final stop for the day at Tulloch.

The drive was truly stunning - and kudos to Allie and Erin for figuring it out. The landscape became more rugged the further north we went into the highlands. I loved seeing all the sheep, cows and even a rainbow or two. But my fav thing? NO BILLBOARDS and very little- if any - liter. You don’t realize how much that can take away from a scenic drive.
We made it to Tulloch around 8pm, saddled up to the bar and had a spread of food from the local “chippy.” We made friends with a lovely woman (Jill), her black lab Freddie and her husband (Frank) who are visiting Tulloch for his bday. Jill is from Glasgow and her accent is amazing. Fingers crossed but we may try and meet up with her again when we head through Glasgow at the end of our trip!
Don’t freak out friends and fam but I MIGHT try driving today…wish me (us and everyone else on the road) luck!
